Traditionally, the process of receiving a new dental crown takes at least two appointments of a person’s time – one for the initial consultation and impressions, and another for the placement of the finished restoration. At Legacy Family Dental, we understand that accommodating this type of dental work into a busy schedule can be frustrating. Dr. McConnell is always looking for new ways to improve the care experience for his patients without sacrificing any of the quality they deserve – that’s why he’s chosen to invest in E4D.
E4D technology simplifies the restorative process of creating a new crown so that every step can take place right here in our office during one visit. You can walk in with a hurting or incomplete tooth and walk out with a beautiful restoration– no waiting required. Please contact our practice in Plano, TX if you’re interested in exploring this service.
What Happens During the E4D Process?
There are five basic steps:
-
Dr. McConnell will make any necessary adjustments to the tooth we are planning on treating.
-
We will capture a detailed digital impression of the tooth that is transferred to our computer system.
-
Dr. McConnell will use state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology to design your new, personalized crown and then forward it to our in-office milling unit.
-
The milling unit crafts the new crown from a block of dental ceramic.
-
Dr. McConnell makes any necessary tweaks to the finished crown and then seats it within the patient’s smile. You will be able to leave with a stronger, healthier, and more confident smile after only one appointment!
What are the Benefits of E4D One-Visit Crowns?
-
Patients will not have to take time away from work or school in order to visit our practice multiple times. They can arrive at Legacy Family Dental with a damaged tooth and leave with the high-quality restorative improvements they need.
-
There’s no need for uncomfortable temporary restorations when using E4D. The permanent version of the crown is available immediately.
-
Patients don’t have to worry about “goopy” impression materials. This entire process is handled digitally for maximized precision and comfort.
-
The finished dental crown will be crafted from dental ceramic and made to look very natural. Once it’s in place within your smile, you may even forget it’s not a true tooth.
-
With the in-house milling unit, you can actually watch your new tooth come to life right before your very eyes!
